Description: | Silen statuette drinking from kantharos. First interpretation: Pan figurine. The back and the feet are missing. The figure seated cross legged, with goats legs and horns and a cloak over his shoulder, is similar to that of the plastic lamp, L 710, save that here Silen is drinking from a large ribbed kantharos, clutched in both hands, and there is no trace of any lamp, nor are the eyes pierced. Mould-made, hollow. On the inside considerable remains of a bright red wash; on the outside a purplish wash, much worn. | |
