"","Fragment of rim and side mended from five pieces. Preserved of the figured scene are most of the head and the upper part of the body of a flute player and the face, crown of the head, left shoulder and upper left arm of a man. The lower part of the flute player's arm has disappeared, except for a small fragment of the wrist; the flutes remain. The man on the left is bearded and nude; the flute player wears a chiton and has long ""white"" locks. Red is used on the beard and the forelock of the man, and for the pattern of the chiton of the woman. The white of the flesh of the woman is different from that of her hair, which has a yellowish tinge. Most of the flesh-white has flaked off; the paint of the hair is in better condition.; ; Good glaze on interior. ; ; This fragment may go with P 1548. The artist responsible for these vases seems to have a preference for repeating the obverse design on the reverse.","August-September 1932","Agora:Image:2007.11.1022::/Agora/2007/2007.11/2007.11.1022.tif::1875::1657","Black Figure Skyphos Fragments","","Agora","P 1549","Object","","","Agora:Object:P 1549","","" "","A section of rim and about half of upper part, including one handle, mended from many fragments. The head and hands of a flute player are preserved. To her left are three male figures, two possibly dancing, the center one bracing his left hand on his hip to carry an amphora on his left shoulder. To right of the woman, another dancing figure. Traces of the head of a water bird(?) below the handle. There are very faint traces of white on the flute player's face. Her hair may have been yellow at one time: now only a thick application of white is left, like that on her hands. White is used also for a wavy chaplet around the neck of the bearded figure behind her, and for the berries of the vine in the field. Red for forelocks, beards, napes of necks and for the fillet about the head of the woman. ; ; Good black glaze on interior; reserved rim around inside of lip. ; ; Cf. P 1549 with head of flute girl. Possibly from reverse of this vase.","August-September 1932","Agora:Image:2009.01.0216::/Agora/2009/2009.01/2009.01.0216.tif::2678::1498","Black Figure Skyphos Fragment","","Agora","P 1548","Object","","","Agora:Object:P 1548","","" "","Agora 23","","Agora:PublicationPage:Agora-23-295::/Agora/Publications/Agora/Agora 023/Agora 023 295 (279).png::1495::2048","Skyphoi; Attic Type","","Agora","Agora 23, s. 295, p. 279","PublicationPage","","","Agora:PublicationPage:Agora-23-295","","520-510 B.C.; 500 B.C."
