Identified as sacrificial pyre by SIR on Agoraios Kolonos:; In southeast corner of house 3. 35 artifacts, bone and charred material in pit, in floor sequence. The pottery and burnt deposit lay in the lowest 0.08m of the pit, which was filled with earth and topped with a broken tile. The pyre lay below two floors: a lower floor not closely datable and an upper floor with pottery largely of the 3rd c. The pyre is more likely to be associated with a reflooring and perhaps installation of the basins than the original construction. The size and constitution of the pyre, along with two foci of burning, suggest the assemblage may represent the remnants of two different pyres.","F 5:2","Ca. 300-275 B.C.","","","Sacrificial Pyre under Room 18 in House 3","","Agora:Deposit:F 5:2","4-6 April 1937","Agora","Deposit","","","Agora:Image:2007.04.0018::/Agora/2007/2007.04/2007.04.0018.tif::3040::2008" "Once vaulted chamber north of Hephaisteion.
