Tie-holes in the lip.; ; Fine soft rather micaceous buff clay, which was very porous and pliable when damp in the grave and came off in soft splinters where broken. Perhaps under-baked? Handmade. Wide band separated into panels by parallel horizontal zigzags between four to five vertical bands each side; in each panel, two sections of hatched maeander, running left. Above, three narrow bands; at lip horizontal zigzag. On bottom: at center, large black circle with four reserved circles in it; in each reserved circle, a star. Around circle, series of lozenge-shaped leaves, hatched. Three bands, dotted interlaced zigzags, three bands, inverted rays, three bands, linked dots.; ; b) Lid: Slightly convex, with raised ring at center around an opening. Diagonal parallel short strokes around edge, three bands, hatched lozenge-shaped leaves, three bands, zigzag, three bands, wide band to raised ring. Three horses as handle, entirely glazed except for linked dots between bands across chests; circle around eyes, crosses on faces, chevrons on noses. Modelled manes, ears and eyes.; ; Slipped. Two bands; horizontal zigzags; two bands. On bottom: at center, eight-leaved flower, with herringbone veins in the leaves; around it a wide zone of cross-hatching between narrow bands, two inside, three outside.; ; b) Lid: Rather high convex lid, with very high spiked knob handle. Around edge, wide zigzag zone between three narrow bands inside and out. Linked dots, three narrow bands, wide band, two narrow bands, wide band, two narrow bands, wide band at base of handle.
