Description: | Full height preserved; width and thickness of the antefix preserved, the cover tile broken off at the back. The nine-petalled palmette, in low relief, rises from an acanthus bed; below this decoration the undecorated lower part of the piece is cut back about 0.048m. as if to rest against the sima. At the bottom is a semi-circular cutting to enable the piece to be fitted over the meeting edges of the roof-tiles. On the back of the antefix, a probable mason's mark, Α Ι Ι, painted in red. Traces of white paint on the petals and black on the background between them. Middle Stoa. <graphic> | |
