Description:   Much restored in cement. Upper and lower tori. Good crisp work.
The diameter is appropriate to the Ionic column drums found in the same tower, together with the painted capitals A 2972 and A 2973.
Pentelic marble.
Context:   From original fabric of a tower of the Late Roman Fortification at the S.W. corner of the Library of Pantainos. Two fragments found June 1959 in south wall of tower. Three fragments recovered from marble piles of the 30's from the same tower.
