Two non-joining wall fragments. Max. dim. a) 0.045, b) 0.029. E. Vanderpool, Hesperia 15, 1946, p. 288, cat. no. 59, pl. 34.

Fragment a preserves a man (himation) leaning on a stick to right, facing a woman (chiton and himation). Beside the man is a dog (foreparts) sniffing the ground. Inscribed:

Fragment b shows the left foot and lower edge of drapery of a man to left, part of one foot of another facing, and a little of the reserved ground line. Relief contour. Dilute glaze:Xon man's himation; border of woman's. Red: dog's collar; edge of woman's himation; inscription; line below ground line.

The wall seems too thin for either an alabastron or a lekythos. There is very little vertical curve compared with the rather sharp horizontal curve. Unglazed on inside; very fine potting lines.
