Wall fragment with strong horizontal curve. Lug without hole near top. Max. dim. 0.042.

Woman (back of hair with fluttering ribbon, part of left arm) and Eros (face, a little bit of hair with fillet, right wing, and right arm), both to left. The woman was probably frontal, with head in profile to left. Above, egg pattern with dots. Dilute glaze: part of hair. White: woman's garment; Eros. Added clay: fillet; dot at each end of ribbon. The wings were gilded (quite a bit remains).

In a letter to Lucy Talcott dated November 14, 1937, Beazley suggested that 1663 belonged to a squat lekythos or an acorn lekythos.
