Kithara-player. Only fragments a and d preserve part of the figures. Fragment a (illustrated) shows, on the left, the wings, neck, upper torso, and arms of a Nike to right, holding a wreath in her right hand. In front of her is a youth who wears a fillet with spikes and mounts a platform (his lower right leg and foot are missing, as is the left half of the platform). He wears a long belted garment and holds a a kithara in his left hand, the plektron in his right. In front of him is another Nike (part of body missing) who holds a phiale on her left forearm and a wreath in her right hand. She is adorned with a bracelet and necklace. Behind her is another youth (head and shoulders) wrapped in a himation, standing to left, a wreath around his head. Fragment d shows a little drapery, probably belonging to someone who flanked the composition at the left. Above the figures, olive wreath with fruit; below, egg pattern with dots. Added clay: fillet with spikes; jewelry; decoration on phiale; fruit of wreath. White: flesh of Nikai; sash of kithara, ribbons hanging down from it; platform; wreath held by right Nike; wreath of right youth. Dilute glaze: drawing on left Nike.
