Zeus(?): wreathed head, start of left shoulder, to right.
Compare the Painter of London E 494 (ARV2 1080, ---: here the number is incorrectly given as 8569; corrected in Addenda 326). In ARV2 the shape was identified as either a squat lekythos or a chous; the former is correct because the potting lines on the inside are not those of a chous and there is no trace of a return.
