Title:   Statuette : Weary Herakles
Category:   Bronze
Description:   The base on which the figure stood, and the support under left arm missing.
Fingers of left hand broken; otherwise intact.
Nude bearded male standing facing, but with the head turned sharply to his left.
The weight is divided between the right leg, leaving the advanced left leg relaxed, and a tall support (club ?) now missing, on which he heavily leans, the left arm thrown over it and the fingers of the hand curled around it; the roughly oval hole for the insertion of the end of the support is preserved under the arm.
The right arm is bent at the elbow and held behind the back, resting on the hip, a small round object held in the up-turned hand.
The curly head and beard are rather summarily represented by small round bumps all over the head and chin.
The muscles are prominently rendered, but the proportions of the figure are rather more attenuated than in the usual representations of this theme.
The right side of the face (toward the spectator) seems more carefully executed than the left.
No marks of attachment preserved on soles of feet.
