Description:   Inscribed stele with relief.
Upper front right corner broken away and surface somewhat worn and flaked, but otherwise complete.
Tall stele with cavetto capital the face of which has a sculpted relief with an inscription on the shaft.
Relief is a scene in a Cobbler's workshop: four men sit on chairs with curved legs, working on shoes. A small boy sits in the lower left corner cutting something, presumably leather. A Cobbler's bench sits in the right foreground with two sandals on it. Above the workers' heads there is a beam with pegs, from which hang sandals.
The first line of the text runs along the bottom of the relief and is continued in three lines on the shaft. This is followed by a vacat of ca. 0.04m. and six more lines of text which seems to scan as three hexometers. The top of the stele has a cutting running into full width, presumably to receive a relief plaque. The bottom 0.27m. of the surface is far fresher than above, suggesting that it was set deeply into a base. Despite weathering on the surface of the shaft, ruled lines for the inscription are clearly visible.
Blue-white marble, Hymettian.
Context:   Found in south half of Room 2 of the Street Stoa, at the southeast corner.
