Description: | Fragment from back part of large lamp with two small solid hadles (?). The handle seems to have consisted of an elaborate upper part, ridged and grooved, and of two solid projecting knobs, quadruple grooved on top, plain beneath, which connect the upper part of the handle with the base. The latter was surrounded by a double groove, within which the signature. Type related to XXVIII (?) of Corinth collection. ADDENDA Pink clay with a white slip or paint more suggestive of a teracotta than a lamp. J.P.: 19/12/ 1953: not a lamp. | |
