Description: | Fragment mended from two pieces from a black glazed jug decorated with moulded reliefs; top of an askos(?). Relief depicts the upper part of an Amazon, body facing, head half right; her right arm is raised and she wears a tiara and thin chiton, drapery fluttering behind. She is mounted on a harnessed horse, right, the head and neck and part of the shoulder preserved. Good black glaze, somewhat chipped. Thin brown, and a large smear of black, inside. | |
