Title:   Panathenaic Amphora Fragments

Description:   A large fragment from the lower wall, made up of many pieces and preserving parts of both front and back panels; also eleven non-joining wall fragments, some with portions of the figured scenes.
A) Athena, striding left; the column behind her. Her dress has an all-over net pattern, incised, with white dots in the spaces, and a lower border of a double row of dots. A long white fringe hangs from the hem.
B) A small part of a nude(?) figure.
Coarse work; surface much worn; many traces of iron incrustation.
Context:   "Foundary Pit", N-S cut on 50m. line, area of Stoa, layer VII, with slag. Second quarter of 4th. c. B.C.
