Title:   Black Figure Skyphos

Description:   A single fragment preserves part of the rim and wall, with one handle. Band skyphos with concave lip. Black glazed inside, save for reserved line at lip, outside on lip and lower wall, and on outside of handle. Alternating reserved and glazed bands, irregular, black to brown, at bottom of handle zone. Beside the handle, a palmette, then part of the figured scene: the combat over the tripod. Herakles right, looking back left, brandishing his club in one hand and grasping the huge tripod with the other (?). At edge of fragment, a bit of drapery. A little careless incision.
