Title:   Black Figure Lekythos

Description:   The body preserved to the turn of the shoulder; much missing on the right side. Shape similar to P 15648 (ΝΝ 1476), but slightly larger. Top of foot and lower body glazed. On the wall, on a broad glazed ground line, Herakles, standing, grappling the Nemean lion; to either side a draped standing figure holding a staff, both left. Red for Herakles' beard and the hair around his brow; for the lion's mane, and for stripes on drapery.
ADDENDA P 15648: Shoulder lekythos on spreading foot; neck short and narrow; small flaring lip.
