Title:   Red Figure Oinochoe

Description:   Small oinochoe, shape III. The upper part preserved, lacking the handle and the back of the lip, mended from several pieces. Eros, right, bending over to catch a ball thrown him by a female figure (head and shoulders preserved). Band of egg pattern above the panel. Added clay, with traces of pink over, for Eros' fillet and for three leaves topping the woman's sphendone. Partial relief contour.
Additional fragments added give the base complete, and most of the wall; lacking, the handle and the rim at the back; from the figured panel, the midpart of the woman and much of her arms; the hare's hind quarters and much of his body; and bits from Eros' wings and from the rim of the jug. Egg pattern below the scene: Eros and a woman playing with a hare. Set on the ground, behind Eros, an oinochoe.
Context:   Well, reddish fill with marble chips, box 1. Top fill, to early 4th. c.
