Title:   Moldmade Bowl

Description:   Mended from many pieces; small fragments of rim and wall missing. Restored in plaster. Medallion, a small rosette, surrounded by a ring of dots from which spring short pointed leaves, grooved in diminishing triangles and dotted between; from these in turn spring long leaves, the diagonally grooved and the plain with dotted central rib alternating. Above, flying Nikai and large and small birds; also, on either side of the bowl a nude figure, running left. Upper zone, hatched ovules; above, reverse spirals, topped by small leaves.
Black to dark brown glaze, considerably worn outside.
Context:   Komos cistern.
