Description: | The original side edges of the foot are preserved, with a small part of the body of the base above. The foot itself is broken off at about half its height. A small groove between foot and vase, on the exterior. Rosettes in the field, pendents above the groove. The inner side of the undersurface of the vase is reserved. Applied red: head band of sphinx; groove between foot and vase. Light reddish-buff clay with a wash of nearly the same color; nearly black glaze, rather chipped. | |
