Description: | Mended from four pieces. The central medallion on the bottom and part of the sides preserved. In the center, outside, within two raised ridges, a Gorgoneion. Beyond the ridges, bands of scale-like leaves between three (two preserved) amphorae. Above, between the amphorae, seated human figures and flying birds. Hanging from above, large fillets, bound. Light reddish buff clay; fine brownish glaze red in places from stacking during firing. Cf. Agora XXII, nos. 140, 238, p. 109. | |
