Title:   Amphora Fragments with Glaze Decoration

Description:   Two fragments from neck, at either side with upper attachments of handles. Both pieces preserve a little of the rim, flat on top and slightly projecting. Handles were oval in section.
Coarse gray clay with orange surfacing and decoration in dull black to orange glaze. Non-Attic.
ADDENDA Small bit of rim fragment removed for mineralogical study (July 1967).
Context:   a) Exploratory cut to stone backing at east wall of S.W. House, room 1. b) Polygonal House, West Room. Cf. container S 178.
