Title:   Black Figure Skyphos

Description:   Foot missing; upper part mended from numerous fragments and restored in plaster. High bowl, concave lip, steeply canted handles, from shoulder to above rim.
A: Left to right: figure moving right; looking back over shoulder; bearded man seated on small chariot, pulled by two horses, facing right; olive tree in background; bearded male touching horses' heads, facing left; bearded male moving right, looking back over shoulder.
B: Left to right: draped female moving right; second figure moving right; much of center missing except for shoulder and back of head of figure moving right; upper half of bearded male moving right, looking back; upper half of bearded satyr moving right, looking left; olive tendrils in background.
Figures in black with incised detail and added purple; diluted glaze for limbs, faces, spots on horses. Decoration of lower wall: elongated tongues surmounted by bands of glaze. Decoration of lip: two rows of ill-defined vine leaves.
Generally good black glaze; Attic clay.
