Title:   Mesomphalic Phiale Fragments with Paint Decoration

Description:   Six fragments preserved, the largest mended from two pieces. Parts of the rim and wall remain, and of the bottom, but not of the central boss, which appears to have been broken off the inner edge of the larger fragment.
The outside unglazed save for a distance of 0.009m. at the top. Edge of lip reserved. Painted over dull black glaze: a white circle which surrounded the boss; then a band of narrow red rays, surrounded by a series of white concentric circles.
The rest of the plate occupied by a garland composed of large white leaves with red stems attached to a central stem of white. Red dots of 'drops' between the tips of the leaves.
