Title:   Black Figure Lekythos Fragment

Description:   Bit of wall with start of shoulder. Athena, helmeted and riding right, preserved to the waist. Only a part of the head of the horse remains. Vine in field. Row of two dots between glazed bands (one above, two below) at the top of the wall. On the shoulder, tips of lotus bud pattern.
White for Athena's flesh; red for crest and stripes on helmet; stripes on garment and line down horse's mane.
Orange wash; the glaze fired red.
