Description: | Preserved is about one-third of neck of amphora with beginning of shoulder. On a buff background with brush strokes showing is painted, orange to brown, in outline a helmeted head of Athena with high plume crest above. Hair falls down neck; necklace at throat. Raised right hand above and behind head holds spear directed diagonally downward to right, crossing top of shield. Part of wide band for frame to right and above. Reddish-buff clay. | |
