Title:   Red Figure Krater Fragments
Category:   Pottery
Description:   Joins P 30025.
a) Mended from three pieces broken all around. At left, female figure sits facing right. She wears thin chiton and himation, and leans back as she sits. Her right hand, which has too many fingers, rests in her lap; her left arm is drawn back. A winged youth hovers in front of her, facing right. To right, perhaps a bent elbow.
b) Single fragment broken all around. Preserves a delicate face, perhaps that of the seated woman. Hair rendered in dots over forehead, long earring swinging forward, as though she has just leaned back quickly. Same sort of thin chiton as visible on fragment a). Black glaze inside and out. Possibly from a small krater.
Orange clay.
Additional three fragments join. One of these connects fragments a) and b).
