Title:   Red Figure Bell Krater Fragment: Inscribed

Description:   Broken all around; part of the wreath remains, and the band of ovules below it. Black glaze inside, with a narrow reserved band just below the level of the ovules. On the side wall a Doric column carrying an architrave and a bird (a dove?). At the left edge, the hair of a head facing right toward the column. In the field between head and column the letters Λ Ζ twice repeated. Relief contours of the shaft and echinus only. Brown dots on the bird's wing. The scalloped hair line reserved. The inscription painted; no color preserved.
Good glaze.
