Title:   Black Glaze Kantharos

Description:   Almost complete except for small fragments of wall. Mended from 27 fragments. Glaze worn. Black glazed kantharos on pedestal foot with torus and scraped groove above. Concave underside; grooved resting surface. Low concave stem. Convex lower wall divided by a scraped groove below lower handle attachment, ribbed above groove. High upper body flaring out to plain rim. Double handles, narrowing as they rise, joined near the rim by a horizontal strip. At the attachment with the rim, each handle turns at a right angle and broadens to a peaked rectangular finial. Reserved with added miltos: grooved resting surface, groove on foot and groove on lower wall.
Pinkish-red, fine-grained clay.
