Description:   Mended from many fragments. The handle missing and the lip. A trace of a handle attachment remains on the shoulder close to the neck. Low ring foot.
Black glaze on the neck, the top of the shoulder, and around the handle attachment. On the body, and around the base, black bands. The inside unglazed. Rather coarse light red clay; dull buff to gray surface.
ADDENDA Clay, glaze and finish very like such pots as P 18979. HAT suggests that this pot need not be separated from its context, but that it is very likely an import.
