The siren, standing right, looking back left, covers most of the body of the vase, but her left wing being much smaller than her right wing allows space for a water bird, facing her, on one side. Blob and ring rosettes in field. The glaze metallic black, brown; a stripe down the outside of the handle; none inside the neck or on the underside of the foot. Purple red, a band across wings and breast of siren and on wing and breast of water fowl. Pale pinkish buff clay. Attic Orientalizing. | |
