Title:   Three-Handled Jar

Description:   About one-half of vase preserved. Broken, especially at foot, in many fragments. Profile complete and two handles preserved. Restored in plaster. From the high shoulder, the body tapers with a concave profile to the small spreading foot. Low neck with wide mouth and broad flaring lip. Small upright loop handles set at edge of shoulder. On shoulder a band of diagonal hatching; horizontal bands of glaze below shoulder and on lower body, covering the foot. Neck solidly glazed. Lip has two narrow bands of glaze and the inside of the mouth is glazed as far as the break between neck and shoulder. A raised band unglazed, separates shoulder and neck.
Fine pink clay, buff at core. Good creamy slip outside and under foot. Decoration in red-brown glaze, without much gloss.
Context:   Stereo at bottom of late pit, w/Λ 526, disturbed burial.
