Title:   Oinochoe with Tubes
ΤΙΤΛΟΣ:   Υστερογεωμετρική οινοχόη – ψυκτήρας με παράσταση μάχης. 750 – 725 π.Χ.

Description:   Mended from many pieces; complete save for chips.
Flat-bottomed oinochoe with round body, straight narrow neck, trefoil mouth and double vertical handle. On lip outside, row of dots between wide bands; on neck, two narow bands; three warriors with spears and exaggerated hour-glass shields, right; zigzag between double narrow bands. Shoulder: double narrow band, hatched maeander running left, three narrow bands, zigzag, three narrow bands. On body under handle: two warriors behind a square shield mount a two-horse chariot and defend themselves against two other warriors right with swords, spears and crested helmets. In front, a warrior in a two-horse chariot going right; in front again a warrior with sword moves right in a one-horse chariot, reins in left, whip in right hand. Eyes of warriors reserved and dotted, noses added. In field, zigzags, stars, hatched lozenges, crosses, hour-glasses. Around bottom, zigzag between two bands above, three below.
Four round holes in the body, one in front, one in back, and one at each side, are connected by two hollow clay tubes passing through the body. The tube connecting the holes at front and back is set slightly below that which connects the holes at the sides. The tubes are an integral part of the pot, and were made before it was painted.
Slipped; black glazed, much peeled.
ΠΕΡΙΓΡΑΦΗ:   Γεωμετρική οινοχόη, με τέσσερις κυλινδρικές προχοές στην κοιλία. Στο λαιμό φέρει παράσταση τριών πολεμιστών, ανάμεσα σε γεωμετρικά κοσμήματα. Στο σώμα διακρίνεται παράσταση δύο πολεμιστών σε δίθριππο, αντιμέτωποι με δύο πεζούς.
