Title:   Pyxis Lid: West Slope

Description:   None of the lip preserved. Restored in plaster. Somewhat similar in shape to P 6010 (Γ 1611). On flat bottom double cross of thinned clay paint and wavy white; two grooves. On body, horizontal leaves with long white and thinned clay paint petals, linked by festoons of white dots. A groove around the outer edge of the flange, and two grooves around the lower part of the inward-sloping rim. On the flange, a row of white blobs. On rim, thinned clay paint blobs dotted with white, alternating with triple white strokes.
Dull black glaze, fired red inside.
Context:   Cistern, middle fill.
