Title:   Pyxis Lid: West Slope

Description:   Most of one side missing; none of lower edge preserved. Restored in plaster. Domed top, flattened at the center; slightly concave sides, with a flat projecting flange where the sides and top meet. Scraped groove at junction of flange and another around medallion-like center.
Ivy wreath in clay-colored and white paint around walls; on the top, bunches of grapes and fillets, alternating, in clay-colored paint.
Deep pinkish-buff clay. Glaze outside black to reddish-brown; inside, reddish-brown.
Context:   Trench 1, extension, west end, Stoa filling.
