Title:   Stamnos Fragments with Paint Decoration

Description:   One fragment, mended from several, preserves part of the shoulder and rim; another comes from the body below the shoulder. A number of shoulder and body fragments do not join. Nothing of base preserved. A large pot, stamnos or pithos, with broad shoulder, small vertical rim, and tapering body.
Coarse red clay, slipped, and decorated with red glaze, the rim glazed; on the shoulder large palmettes alternating with groups of pendent wavy lines. Below, three bands; then a wavy line around the body.
