Title: | Bronze Earring | |
Category: | Bronze | |
Description: | Above are two square plinths, superimposed. Thin edges lightly rilled. To the top of the upper is attached the plain bronze ring. From the lower hangs a mass of bronze shaped to resemble a cluster of grapes. Ring seems put through a small loop added to curve it. Appears no to have been soldered. Cf. British Mus. (Cat. Jewelry), nos. 1670-1673 - mold very elaborate - pyramid is only part of complicated design (1672-3 very definitely IVth BC)- from (?) | |
