Title:   Red Figure Krater Fragment
Description:   Mended from four pieces. Fragment form lower part of picture, with a little of the maeander band below.
Lower part of a woman seated left. She wears a bordered peplos with long overfold and holds a string of beads in her lap. In front of her knees the oval top of the some object, a plant (?).
Above, Eros, right, at a higher level; the legs preserved from the knees down; soft leather shoes. Behind the woman, part of a tree and the leg of a figure in Oriental trousers and soft shoes moving quickly to right.
No relief contour. White for Eros' legs and shoes, and for the woman's feet and beads.
Second quarter of fourth century.
Three wall fragments; on b) part of lower meander border
a) draped female figure, seated with string of beads in her lap; and Eros. b) and c) come from the other side; [Amazons pursuing girls (?) Scheffield pl. 10 no. 168) on c) the rump of a horse right, drapery, behind; on b) two missing figures: a flying skirt to left and a leg in long tight fitting trouser, to right; a staff between.
No relief contour; white for Eros, the beads, the horse and a bit of some object (heel) at left edge of b).
Glaze inside fired red to black; these fragments put together on basis of glaze and fabric.
