Title:   Red Figure Plate Fragment
Description:   I. Dionysos seated three quarters left, head three-quarters right. He has a shash tied on his head, the edges falling on his shoulders, at the ears ivy leaves and berries. Part of himation in his left side; it probably covers his lower part. He holds thyrsos with right hand, from the stem of which springs vine tendrils. At the extreme left, part of a wing. At the right, a hand (white) reaches out toward Dionysos' shoulder. (Bracelet).
Underside coarsely moulded; thin glaze and reserved bands alternating.
Relief contour except for Dionysos' right shoulder. Curls in light brown. White for the lost figure hand, with dilute glaze overpainting. Added clay ornament on the headdress.
