Title:   Head Fragment of Female Figure

Description:   Fragment preserving front part of top of head with both eyes, the right cheek and part of the mouth. Nose broken (fresh break). The break in the proper left side of the head old, that on the right fresh.
Heavily weathered on top, pitted especially on right side of face, and stained with dark reddish earth stains on worked and old break surfaces.
In the top of the head a drill hole a little to proper left of center, slanting somewhat back and toward proper left.
Head of a woman slightly under life-size, with hair parted in center. The hair was only roughly finished, the face carefully smoothed. Eyes narrow, with thin lower lids. Mouth slightly open.
Island marble.
Context:   Found built into N.-S. wall behind school that fronts on Vrysaki Street (east of Stoa of Attalos).
