Description: | Right cheek and right half of the chin are broken away, also some of the nose. The head looks straight forward. The hair is pulled back, and much of the head is covered by a sakkos with a bit of hair coming through. High at the back. Most of the ears are exposed, with a bit of the tops covered by hair. The area of skin very smooth. Slightly discolored in places, probably from having lain in ashes, but does not seem to have been burnt itself. Pentelic marble. | |
