Title:   Hand of Gigantic Figure
Category:   Sculpture
Description:   The wrist and the right hand, all except the index finger and end of second finger preserved, of a gigantic statue.
The hand holds a spiral object (torch, cornucopia, elongated snail shell ?), which is broken at the bottom. At its top there is a hollowed cavity, perhaps to receive another unit of muscle. The rim of the cavity next to this unit (?) is broken away, the finish on the inside, however, shows that the rim was not attached to the unit.
On the side of the hand below the little finger there is a projection which must have served as an attachment to the body of the figure.
Perhaps from a giant?
Pentelic marble.
Cf. S 599 (Ν' 127), S 1202 (ΩΔ 98), S 1221 (ΩΔ 235).
