Description: | Exactly like S 596 (Ν' 45), but much more battered; only the thumb and little finger well preserved. The hand holds a spiral shell. A rough surface along the back of the hand may indicate the point at which it rested against the body, or it may be a break. Pentelic marble. Cf. S 596 (Ν' 45), S 1202, (ΩΔ 98), S1221 (ΩΔ 235). | |
