Title:   Impression of Relief Mirror
Category:   Misc. Clay Objects
Description:   Broken off below.
An impression made by pressing a heavy lump of clay against some circular object, presumably a mirror-cover.
The upper part of the scene is preserved; three figures and a hovering Eros. As seen on the positive made from this negative, they are at the left, a female figure muffled in a cloak; Eros behind her; in the center a nude youth, reclining three-quarters left. He reaches his right hand to the neck of the first figure, but turns his head back toward the third figure, a woman in chiton and himation, who sits just behind him and rests her right hand on his shoulder.
Details of modelling, hair, drapery, etc., rendered in great detail.
ADDENDA: The scene is of sacred marriage.
Context:   Brown Byzantine fill over bedrock. Possibly from Koukla factory fill.
